Now I'd like to find out what railroads owned them for use in their paint schemes as I have a model to be painted from un-decorated to go with my scale models!!!! Anyone have a roster of railroads to buy these gondolas?
Feel free to add comments about particular car types to the comment area. Builders, dates built, sizes and weights are all welcome, with the hopes of some day providing a complete source for car type information.
Cars with an "unknown" tag need basic car identification.
Please note that cars are often modified. Boxcars often get new doors, ladders and steps may be removed or modified. Note details unlikely to be changed with rebuilding or repurposing, like ribs.
Builders may adjust the design of cars during production lifetime. This is particularly true in the case of covered hoppers, with blind panels gaining ribs, etc.
